Keyword Research - Keyword Suggestion - Keyword SEO
From a marketer’s point of view there are two kinds of search engine optimization: keyword-based optimization and query-based optimization. Most people in the SEO industry pursue keyword-based optimization. It’s easier to learn keyword-based optimization and there are plenty of tools out there to play with. Query-based optimization, however, offers greater efficiencies.
In fact, query-based optimization is better described as query space marketing because you move beyond basic keyword research and suggestion and take your SEO to a higher level. Nonetheless, you can bring some of your keyword-based SEO vocabulary along with you when you move up to query space marketing.
Keyword Research - Keyword research for query-based marketing is more fluid than traditional keyword research.
You’re looking for query spaces, either to develop or to invade. Invading a query space just means you’ve decided to throw your hat into the ring with other people who are already competing for a specific vertical. A vertical may have more than one query space (in fact, topic verticals have very hierarchical structures so they almost always have more than one query space).
When existing query spaces have been optimized they have very well-defined content. The Web sites populating these query spaces may be dominated by fewer than 10 sites (more competitive query spaces usually have from 30 to 50 serious contenders). A query space with relatively little well-defined content probably has relatively little traffic. Don’t let that deter you.
Invading an existing low-traffic query space makes it easier to create something worth talking about. Since there are already a few people interested in the topic, once they find your great new site they’ll spread the word to their friends and neighbors. In other words, true linkbait thrives on low-traffic query spaces. It obtains some credibility from being created for an underoptimized market.
But I think there is more fun and challenge in building a query space. It’s essentially market-building but if you find there is relevant content for a query that hasn’t been staked out by other marketers you can define the queries you want to optimize for. The previously existing content will guide you in selecting your topics, sub-topics, and lead keywords.
A lead keyword is the hook that brings people in. You use content created for that lead keyword to introduce people to other keywords that they will eventually search for.
Mining the rich content you find in unoptimized query spaces helps you establish on-page relevance quickly. You can also turn those “sleeping competitors” into allies by creating hubs that help them realize more traffic. Eventually, some of them should see what you’re doing and link back to you.
Keyword Suggestion - Keyword suggestion for query-based marketing is as easy as making up a new word or expression.
Of course, you have to come up with something catchy, something that rings (or sings). Something people will remember and associate with the query space. Sometimes it is easier to find an expression that someone else has coined, which despite its natural appeal has fallen flat, and then you just make a fuss over their expression.
I wish I could say this works like a charm but your execution of the strategy may fall flat, too. Still, if someone else has done the creative work but failed to market the idea, you may be able to pick up where they left off and accomplish what they did not.
Keyword suggestion for query-based marketing needs to focus on the phrase or word itself. People will search for a specific reference and once they are satisfied they’ll move on to other things — but you may be able to satisfy their curiosity and lead them through a segue to your own purpose. Regrettably, a lot of Web spammers use the segue technique, but so do many legitimate marketers.
The keyword suggestion for query-based marketing identifies expressions that people think are cute and then creates a buzz around them. For example, suppose you visit a Web forum where someone has embedded in their signature a quote from a new movie. If you search on the expression you may find that no one has optimized for it. Ask yourself, “Can I create anything relevant for this expression that moves my marketing plan forward?”

Realistic timescales for SEO
Once the search engine robots have indexed your pages it can take a month or so before Google assesses how important it considers your website to be (or at least until it uses these results). This delay or dampening mechanism was introduced partly to prevent dubious short term websites from appearing and disappearing overnight. This is the main factor in determining how long your website takes to reach the top few places.
This means that search engine optimisation always take time.
Realistically, for Google this means months, and in competitive markets 6-9 months for top positions. Of course we have some clients for whom we've achieved top 3 places within one month on good keywords, but not in very competitive markets!
Timescales on the other major search engines are very variable. In 2006/7 we usually see good rankings on either Yahoo or MSN within 1 month, but sometimes these take longer.
When comparing SEO companies it is important to consider the dates quoted. Cornish WebServices have had to revise their estimated timescales. On the old MSN algorithm, pre 2006 we usually got very good MSN results within a week or two, and would be surprised if all target keywords were not top 10 within a month. Since 2006 this is less often possible for MSN.
The same applies to Yahoo, where we used to achieve top 10 in 2-3 months maximum, more usually 2-4 weeks. Timescales to get top 10 search engine rankings have lengthened and become more variable for Yahoo.

Search Engine Optimization Strategies For Your Website
2. Create and update your sitemap. Developing a site map is a simple way of giving search engines the information they need to crawl your entire website. There are plenty of free software packages on the web that can help you generate a sitemap. Once you create a sitemap, submit it to Google and Yahoo
3. Ensure that all navigation is in HTML. All too often, navigational items are in the form of java script. Even though navigation technically still works in this format, it’s not optimized. Create your navigation in HTML to enhance internal links throughout your website
4. Check that all images include ALT text. Your image’s alt text is spidered by search engines. If you’re not including your keywords in alt text, you are missing out on a huge opportunity for improved search engine result placements. Label all of your images properly.
5. Use Flash content sparingly. Content generated through java script or flash is a big no-no. Some webmasters like to use flash because of the presentation. If you must, use it sparingly, but only after your site has been properly optimized with basic search engine optimization in mind.

New sitemap standards make it easier for all search engines to find your site
Sitemaps have been about for a while. They were originally created a visual guide to your website. As websites became larger and more complex webmasters used them as a way to view the entire structure of a website to find the connections between pages. Think of them as a kind of interactive table of contents and index rolled into one.
In recent years the search engines have been viewing site maps as a good way to index websites and find all the related content. Google led the charge to make this a mainstream web tool when it introduced XML sitemaps. Creating and submitting an XML sitemap to Google is still the best way to get your website completely crawled by Google. It has become a standard SEO best practice.
As with many things on the web, Google, Yahoo, AOL, MSN and Ask all had their own specific way to use and submit sitemaps in the format they dictated. About six months ago a couple of these folks joined forces to create a standardized method of sitemap creation. They formed an organization called Sitemaps.org and agreed on using the XML sitemap format.
Sorry for the history lesson, but this is really good news for small business web site owners because it will greatly simplify the process of creating and submitting your sitemap and in doing so enhance your chances of getting your entire website indexed by all the search engines.
So, in today's article I'm going to tell you how to create and submit your XML sitemap.
What is a sitemap?
According to Sitemaps.org: "Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site."
Building an XML sitemap
While there are several ways to actually create an XML sitemap I like XML-Sitemaps.com The good news is that if you have a rather small site (under 500 pages) you can simply use their free tool to create an xml sitemap. Over 500 pages and you need to get the $19.95 download.
Getting Your Sitemap found
Once you create your sitemap it's still a good idea to create a free Google Webmaster account so that you can submit your sitemap directly to Google Sitemaps
Robots.txt file
Now here's where the coming together of the search engines gets really nice. Not only will Ask, Google, Yahoo, AOL and MS Live accept the XML format for your sitemap they have also decided to accept an easy, auto-discovery method. In other words you won't have to figure out how to submit to each as they will find your sitemap if you direct them using your robots.txt file. A robots.txt file is a very simple file that resides on your server giving information for the search engines. Many use this file to tell the search engines not to find certain information.
If you already have a robots.txt file, you can simply add the line of code below anywhere to it. If you don't have one, simply create a file in notepad or other text editor, add the code below, save it as robots.txt and upload to the root of your site. (Obviously you need to put the actual URL of your site in here)
Sitemap: http://www.yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml
Advanced tip - If you use the paid version of xml-sitemap generator you can set up what's known as a cron job (it's a Unix only thing) and have your site crawled on a weekly basis and update your sitemap. This is really great if you blog several times a weeks on your domain as it adds your newest posts. Ask your web host about this one.

Google Optimization Tips
Your website is not ranked as a whole. Keywords are used to determine the relevancy of your website for particular subjects. So, before buiding your site, make sure you have a relevant set of keywords. Check competing websites for keywords / search terms and use the good ones for yourself. You can get an indication on the frequency people search for a certain keyword (and alternatives to it) at inventory.overture.com. You can find synonyms for certain keywords at www.thesaurus.com
Place your keywords
The most important elements to insert keywords into are the URL (domain name + path + filename) and title of your web page. Also, a low-level URL (www.mysite.com/page.htm) is considered more important than a higher level URL
(www.mysite.com/subdir/anothersubdir/page.htm). Check out the Dutch website Nu.nl for a good example. Notice how every newsitem has it's own title in the titlebar and how every item's html file is named after its title. These tricks make you score!
It's also important to use your keywords in the body of your site, frequency (a lot) and proximity (close to each other) are important. The higher in a page, the more important a keyword is considered to be. Text in headline (h1 or h2), bold or caps is considered more important than regular text.

Understand Backlinks from Search Engines
The most popular search engine, Google, places great emphasis on backlinks. In fact, relevant backlinks is all a website needs to achieve a high ranking in Google result page. Google, however, does not shows all the indexed backlinks when user queries with the link: operator. In addition, Google does not update their backlink index as frequent as their search results.
It is believed that multiple backlinks from a same domain does not have the stack effect in Google. For example, links from forum signatures and directories will have minimum weigh in Google's ranking algorithm.
Yahoo, on the other hand, chooses to display all the backlinks to the users. A search with the link: operator often reveals most of a page's backlinks to screen. Although they display most of the backlinks, it does not mean that they value them as much as in Google. Unfortunately, backlinks are not as important as they are in Yahoo than in Google.
Yahoo has introduced a site explorer interface to aid the webmasters in locating the backlinks and other useful information. Yahoo also provides one of the best API for the web masters' usage.
MSN also offers to display all the backlinks to the user with the link: operator query. The backlinks update in MSN also seems to be the most updated among all the three search engines. It may seems that MSN focus a lot on backlinks but this is usually not the case. Backlinks are not as important as keyword domain in MSN's point of view.
In conclusion, Google is the only search engine that put a lot of focus on backlinks in their ranking formula and since they are the most popular search engine, backlinks are important for every website. It is recommended to use Yahoo or MSN to check for backlinks because they show a more complete listing.

8 simple steps blogs
-
The first thing to do is to ensure that your blogs URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for. Using the targeted keyword in subdomains also helps.
For example, if you want to start a HTML tutorial site then the primary keyword you want your URL to contain is html. So choose a URL like www.htmlhelp.com.
You can also use the keyword in subdomains like www.web-design.com/htmlhelp
- Use your primary keyphrase in the title of your posts
If your primary key phrase is html help make sure that the word html and help appear in your blog headers such as H1 and H2 tags as well as the title of each of your posts.
- Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post
If you want to get listed for secondary keywords use them infrequently in the body of your post. The theory is that the more times a keyword appears within a Webpage, the more relevant the page is likely to be for someone searching those keywords.
But do not overdo this by repeating the same keywords over and over again. Google bots can find out if a keyword is too frequent on a page and might just remove your site from their index.
- Use your keywords in the anchor text of links
Use your primary and secondary keywords in the anchor text of links when linking to other blog posts or to other pages of your blog. Keyword in links have more importance than simple text.
- Make sure search engines can spider your blog easily
Make sure your navigation bar is present on all pages of your blog. Your previous posts or atleast the popular ones should be linked to all pages so they get spidered easily.
- Get backlinks from other blogs
You need as many links as possible to link back to your posts or blog because it will help you build pagerank and get your blog to rank higher in search engines. The more links you have the higher your blog is ranked in Technorati helping your blog to be found easily.
So how do you get backlinks?
- The first thing to do to get high-quality links is to submit your blog and RSS feed to blog search engines and directories.
Start by submitting your blog to all the directories listed on this page:
http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/ - Link exchanging with other similarly-themed blogs will help you to form richly interlinked networks or communities.
- If you find an interesting article on another blog, link to it generously. The trackback will become a link back to your blog.
- Lastly posting legitimate comments in response to posts on other blogs will help you get backlinks. Regularly post legitimate comments in similarly-themed blogs with high traffic to get many backlinks.
- The first thing to do to get high-quality links is to submit your blog and RSS feed to blog search engines and directories.
- Update your blog frequently
Update your blog frequently using all the rules mentioned above and your blog will surely get top rankings in a short time.
- Stick with your blog
Once you start posting on your blog, stick with the same domain or you could end up losing a lot of your traffic and regular readers.
Also stick with the topic you selected for your blog. If it’s about pets don’t suddenly switch to another topic such as Gadget’s because you will loose traffic.

2Basic SEO keyword tips - how to tell the search engines
Just make sure that your URL is in the form www.example.com/red-widgets (.htm or .php or .aspx or whatever). Avoid URLs without the keyword eg www.example.com/products.htm?id=1234567. Not matter what you use to create your site, there will be a way to put the keyword in the URL - so use it. For the URL it is best to have only the keyword and no other junk.
2. Keyword in the title
It is also easy to use the keyword in the page title, eg "Red Widgets for sale Example.com". Do not repeat titles on all your pages, and do not dilute keywords by putting the same keyword in all your titles. Some extra wording in the title is a good idea, especially if it is good english and reads well

Get your website automatically listed with the “big 3″ search engines in under 48 hours
How to design the core structure of your website and its user navigation to enhance your site’s themes and raise your site in the SERPs?
How to tie specific page themes with semantically related pages within your site into a group that allows you to rank higher for broader and more competitive keywords.
How to outrank 99% of the competing websites in your market.
how to exactly and properly communicate your intent to the search engines and enjoy higher rankings and traffic as a result of a win-win-win cooperation.
And there is so much more. The biggest part with seo is that you need to understand it. You need to know why you are building backlinks and what kind of backlinks. Before you start a site you need to think of a design structure your going to use.
Let me explain a little bit. At first you need to optimize your website for search engines. You do this by having a good structure on your website. Don’t just place links on your site because you seen it somewhere. The more links to a page on your website the more important it will be for the search engines.
The keywords you are using in your meta tags, discription should also be used on your website in the content.
Your domain should be related to the keywords ( not needed but it’s a plus)
When you have several pages on your site make sure you title them with your keywords. Like you see on this site seo-tips-tricks.
You can make up any page and link it from your main site. Like I did here unlock-wii-homebrew.com Look at the links under start playing. I just added a bunch of links with related keywords in them. This increases your indexed pages.
Not to forget backlinks there are thousands of free ways to get them. You need to know what they do and how there have the most effect.
Anyway there are thousands of things like this. You should know them. Once you do it will be very easy to get your site on page 1. Seo also requires you to be creative think of new ways that have not been used before and you wil most likely rank higher then the competition.
I have not seen a site yet that listed almost all of the things you simply need to know to get those top rankings. I did found a website called wildseo that has all the information you need. I normally don’t buy things online most of it is just crap anyway but this was even usefull for me. Ranking isn’t as hard as you think.

The Top 5 SEO Factors to Boost Your Web Site's Search Engine Placement
Getting a higher placement in the SERPs (mainly in Google) is what the SEO game is all about. All SEO professionals are trying to fight their way to the top, and some of them don't play fair.
With all of the common myths and misconceptions about SEO, it's hard to discern fact from fiction. In this article, I'll outline what I know works, based on my experience, and what the most important SEO factors are in your quest to the top
. Keyword placement in the domain name itself.
I've had a very good outcome by placing my keyword in the domain name itself. For example, instead of registering a new domain as "mycoolname dot com", use "mykeyword dot com". Try to make it as descriptive as possible, while keeping the number of words to a minimum. Too many keywords in the domain name can dilute the effect.
2. Keyword placement in the title tag.
The title of each web page will hold more weight than any other on-page SEO factor. Many people make the mistake of using "home page" for their web site's title. Or they'll simply put their company name for the title. Always make sure you place your keywords in your title tags. If it's a must for you to use your company's name in the title, then do it like this: "mykeyword mycompany name". By using the "" symbol, you are keeping the number of unimportant words to a minimum.
3. Use relevant content in your web site.
Always make sure your web site's content is relevant to the keywords you are targeting. For example, it will not do you any good to try and rank for "Branson computer repair" if your web site has no content that mentions Branson or computer repair. You need to have the content of your web site match the keywords you are optimizing for.
4. Make sure your content has a keyword density in the range of 8-12%.
Some SEO pros will tell you that keyword density is a myth. But I have seen for myself that it is definitely NOT a myth. By boosting the frequency of the keywords you are targeting in the body of your web pages, you are showing Google that your site is more relevant. But it's very important that your keywords aren't used for more than 12% of your site's total content or else Google might see it as spam.
5. Build as many in-bound links to your site as you possibly can.
By placing links back to your site, form other sites that have similar content, your site will be deemed more important in the eyes of the search engines. You want to obtain as many links pointing back to your site as you can possibly get. Do this by posting comments on "dofollow" blogs, article submissions, link exchanges, forum posts, directory submissions, and providing useful content that other sites will want to link back to.
It's been reported that in the year of 2008, Google changed their ranking algorithm over 300 times. That's a lot to keep up with, especially since the changes and the internal workings of the algorithm itself are kept a secret from the public.
And many SEO pros will try to confuse you into believing that they have the top-secret method to get your site to the top.
But if you ignore all of the hocus pocus SEO tactics you hear about and stick with these 5 basic principles, you will get better placement in the SERPs. I know this to be fact because I have already launched several successful SEO campaigns for some pretty competitive keywords. And I have over 100 first-page placements under my belt

The Key To Success Of A Website!
So, the first step to search engine marketing is to have a professional looking site that people feel comfortable shopping on. Its not a big problem or task to that but making your site attractive to search engines is huge. Search engines don’t like bad code, or code that doesn’t validate. They don’t like question marks in URLs. They don’t like frames. They don’t like a lot of things, and knowing what those are and avoiding them will make the difference in whether the search engines even pay attention to your site, much less rank them highly.
Once you’ve gotten the search engines attention, you have to earn their respect. For this, you need content. Single page, or brochure sites, just don’t cut it anymore. You need to say something about your website, your product, your service, or your industry. You need pictures, videos, sound clips or music, and words. Lots of words. But the words should be related to the keywords you’re trying to win searches for. Posting four or five times to a blog every week is must to make search engines believe that you deserve to be an authority in your industry. Over time, this kind of commitment creates a lot of content, and content is still King.
Finally, you need to prove to the search engines that your site is well liked by other people too. Popular sites have links to them. Lots of links from quality sites and this is the key, especially to Google. If your content is worth able your site automatically get links and you don't need to do all that link building stuff later. All you need is just a good design and REALLY GOOD CONTENT. create a post that people like to linked to, after making a post ask yourself is this article deserves to be mentioned on a blog? If satisfied; post it on some social bookmark sites liek digg, del.icio.us, stumble, etc. If your post is really good than you will be able to see results from next day.

Top 5 Mistakes in Web Site Optimization
1) Web Site Optimization Mistake #1: Lack of Targeted Keywords and Phrases
A lack of targeted keywords and phrases can make or break your site. When a searcher goes to a search engine or directory and types in a keyword or keyword phrase that you would like to be found for - but you don't have these particular keywords and phrases on your site - then that searcher will most likely not be able to find you.
2) Web Site Optimization Mistake #2: Poorly Written Content
Site content is the absolute number one draw for both search engine spiders and search engine/directory users. If your content is badly written, is never updated, or is not relevant to what you want to be found for, than your site is neither search engine friendly or user-friendly. In addition, your content absolutely must have targeted keywords and phrases (see mistake number 1). Well-written content is what search engine spiders feed on, and content is the key to high rankings.
3) Web Site Optimization Mistake #3: Black Hat SEO Techniques
Black Hat web site optimization includes techniques that are unethical and frowned upon by search engine spiders. These techniques include keyword stuffing, doorway pages, invisible text, and more. These practices actually do raise your site ranking. However, search engine spiders have become very aware of Black Hat seo techniques and can spot them pretty easily (and ban your site). Don't go for the quick fix; learn how to optimize your site for the long haul.
4) Web Site Optimization Mistake #4: Using Meta Tags Improperly or Not At All
Meta tags include title tags, keyword tags, and description tags. While not the absolute most important component in Web site optimization (that spot is reserved for keywords and content), they do have an important part to play. Make sure to include all these tags in every page of your site, and target them for each individual page.
5) Web Site Optimization Mistake #5: A Badly Designed Site
Ineffective site design includes lack of clear navigation, poorly designed frames, and large,load-intensive graphics. Search engine spiders can actually be blocked from crawling sites that are not well-designed, so it's a major part of Web site optimization; plus, if users can't find what they want on your site quickly, they'll find another site.

Search Engine Marketing Techniques for Beginners
In an Internet savvy world, acronyms have taken the place of the written word in many cases. As a webmaster you understand the language of acronyms that many may not. But do you fully understand SEO, SEM and SMO and their effects on your Web site’s traffic? A successful webmaster knows and understands the importance of META tags in the header section of their Web site’s html. This area is where browsers and search engines look for the key words that are used to index and rank your Web site on search engines. Properly used META tags and keywords can mean the difference between effectively or poorly indexed Web sites.
SEO, or search engine optimization, is the utilization of precise keywords configured on your Web site in such a way that they will be easily found, read and indexed by search engines in a manner that will drive traffic to your Web site. The key words used in your META tag should be used appropriately in the text on your Web site. If you are unfamiliar with indexing and ranking, you may consider hiring a professional to write content for you. Individual pages of your Web site must target key words and phrases in order to be indexed and ranked properly.
SEM, or search engine marketing, includes researching, submitting and marketing the Web site to achieve maximum exposure and traffic. SEM usually includes banner ads, link building campaigns, affiliate programs and article marketing. Well-planned and well-placed banner ads will help draw attention to your Web site. Affiliate programs also can be very beneficial for all parties involved. Link building is the act of placing links to your Web site in strategic places on forums, blogs and other related Web sites.
SMO, or social media optimization, is a set of methods used for generating traffic through social and community Web sites. The utilization of social networking sites such as MySpace, YouTube, Yuwie and others could give you the edge you need. With hundreds of thousands of visitors per day to some social networking sites, your Web site could get a very large boost in traffic if properly optimized.
If your site is not performing as well as you had expected, maybe you need to work on your SEO, SEM or SMO. You may do the work yourself or hire professionals to do it for you.
SEO might be better achieved by someone who is familiar with HTML, PHP and writing content for Web sites. SEM could be the trickier. How many keywords should you have on your Web site? What would be considered SPAM? If you copy someone else’s work could you get in trouble for plagiarism or be penalized by search engines? Can you write appropriate content to draw traffic to your site? If you aren’t 100 percent sure you can provide what your Web site needs, it is highly recommended that you hire someone. Many small writing businesses and freelance professionals have emerged over the last few years. Hiring someone to write for you could be the best move you could make. Some writers and businesses will include search engine or article submission with their price. Shop around until you find the best deal to suit your needs.

How Do I Get Google to Index My Website Faster
Google doesn't index every site at the same speed if website A adds a new page at the same time as website B this does not mean they will both be indexed at the same time. Why is this? In this article I will discuss why this happens and what you can do to be website A.
Let's start by discussing why Google indexes webpage's quicker than others. The reason Google will index a page from website A before website B is mostly due the frequency that you add new pages to your website. If you think about it if you are adding pages every day then Google is going to pick up on this and crawl your website more often in search of new unique content. If on the other hand you only add new pages once a month then Google won't index your new content as regularly.
If you want Google to increase the crawl rate of your website you need to add new pages with unique content on a regularly basis. However just adding any old rubbish won't help Google still needs to value the content you are adding. If you add a sitemap xml document to Google through your Google webmasters account this will help as Google can see when you add new content and from here you can also see the crawl rate of your website. Adding a sitemap xml can also give you a host of other statistics regarding your website.
Another way to get your webpage's index quicker is by getting links from other websites that Google indexes quick. For example if you add you content to websites like Digg which is a website that get indexed very frequently then Google will find your link and follow it to your website. Then from there Google can decide whether to index your webpageseo specialist in hyderabad www.searchenginefactors.com
